Before You Sign
What to look for in an
Orlando talent agency.
Orlando has a lot of agencies. Four things separate the legitimate ones from the rest. Check every one of them, including for us.
A Florida talent agency license.
Every agency operating in Florida must be licensed by the state. Ask for the TA number. Ours is TA# 498.
SAG-AFTRA franchise status.
Required to represent union members and book union productions. Only a handful of Florida agencies hold it. CFT has held it since 1994, Agency ID 000347. How to verify it.
No upfront fees.
Registration, photo, class, and portfolio fees are how bad agencies make money. A real agency earns commission only when you book.
A booking record you can check.
Ask what the agency has actually booked, then look. CFT’s production and brand credits and on-camera work are public.
Where We Work
CFT’s office is at 8810 Commodity Circle #33, Orlando, FL 32819, by appointment only. Talent are booked across Florida, including Tampa, Jacksonville, Miami, and the Space Coast, and on national productions that shoot in the state.
Orlando is one of the busiest production markets in the Southeast.
CFT has been booking in it since 1994.
FAQ
Choosing an Orlando
talent agency, answered.
- How do I choose a talent agency in Orlando?
- Check four things before signing with any Orlando talent agency: a current Florida talent agency license, SAG-AFTRA franchise status if you want union work, no upfront or registration fees, and a booking record you can verify. Central Florida Talent holds Florida license TA# 498, has been SAG-AFTRA franchised since 1994 (Agency ID 000347), charges no upfront fees, and publishes its production and brand credits.
- Is Central Florida Talent a licensed talent agency in Florida?
- Yes. Central Florida Talent is licensed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation as talent agency TA# 498, and is additionally SAG-AFTRA franchised under Agency ID 000347. Both credentials can be verified with the issuing organization.
- What is the difference between a talent agency and a casting director in Orlando?
- A casting director is hired by a production to find the right people for specific roles. A talent agency represents actors and models and submits them to casting directors for those roles. Central Florida Talent is a talent agency: casting directors, producers, and brands contact CFT to book its represented talent.
- Does CFT represent both actors and models?
- Yes. Central Florida Talent represents actors for film, television, and commercials, and models for print, runway, and lifestyle campaigns. Many CFT talent work across both, and the agency represents adults, teens, and children.
- Do I have to live in Orlando to work with Central Florida Talent?
- No. CFT is based in Orlando and books talent across Florida, including Tampa, Jacksonville, and Miami, as well as on national productions. Talent should be able to reach Orlando-area auditions and sets reliably, but Orlando residency is not required.
- How does a talent agency in Orlando get paid?
- A legitimate talent agency earns a commission only when you book paid work. For a SAG-AFTRA franchised agency like Central Florida Talent, that commission is regulated by the union. There are no sign-up, registration, photo, or training fees. Any Orlando agency asking for money before you have booked a job is a warning sign.
